illustration contest ‘Mansfield Park’

Following Jane Austen’s novel ‘Mansfield Park’ about the poor Fanny Price who gets to live with her rich uncle, The House of Illustration and Folio Society organized an illustration contest. The assignment was to create a matching cover and three illustrations and to submit them. Here, you can see my contribution. For the cover, a number of restrictions applied: ‘Use two colors (black and off-white) and a base of gold linen. I drew the other illustrations with Indian ink, after which I scanned the images and digitally colored the illustrations.
